Traditional roasted coffee has been an integral part of local Belgian culture for generations. Almost every town across the country has their very own coffee roastery, serving loyally the people of their community, creating moments of comfort and togetherness.

Koffie ‘t Molentje ( the coffee mill ) was one such local roastery, situated in West Flanders who had ambitions to grow beyond their humble beginnings in 1947 into something much more meaningful today. Transitioning to a new name the Koffiemakers brand ( coffee makers ) looked to us to totally re-brand and re-imagine their corporate and packaging identity. Whilst keeping two feet on the ground and a tangible and familiar link to local needs and the local community, we were asked to create an impactful, memorable and stylish visual identity.

Using a coffee cup shaped ‘KM’ monogram brand symbol as source of inspiration, the identity looked to combine elegant styling with iconic impact. Each Koffiemakers blend utilizes its own signature colour, creating a powerful family of bold statements. From Super-Dessert to Santos Gourmet or Café Speciale, the packaging identity needed to grow to accommodate not only different blends but also the difference between coffee beans, ground coffee or even coffee pads. This was further indicated alongside extra blend related information within the sticker labelling.
