Drukkerij Desmedt, an innovative print house specialized in labelling, asked us to help design and create their holiday seasons gift to their clients. The design required to showcase their wide range in technical skills and high level detailing possibilities. Together with urban-bee organization Amielo, Desmedt decided to install bee hives on their rooftop, with unsurprisingly the honey produced, used to indulge their clients with this locally sourced and sustainable treasure.

Our design combined both a Holiday Seasons greeting with the sustainable urban-bee story. We crafted a unique bee-shaped label diecut and highly-detailed Queen Bee illustration, finished with cold foil and glossy varnish. Originally our idea was to combine the black and gold festive feeling with a special scratch-off ink innovation that allowed the full message to be revealed with the use of a coin. The quality seal and top label rounded off the experience by conveying the product story with a deliciously sweet finish.
